Hornetista löytyy tuuletetut levyjarrut, eli tollaset uudemmat yksisylinteriset. Piti selvittää mitkä omasta löytyy ja samalla selvittelin tuota TECH INFO etulevyjarrujen yhtä ristiriitaa ja sain erittäin loistavan selvityksen jenkkilästä Frank Swygertilta, josta poimittuna alla tietopaketti aikajärjestyksessä.

AMC Front Disc-brakes:

- Bendix 4 caliber, non-ventilated, used 1965-1970.

- Kelsey Hayes brakes, ventilated, used 1971-76 all models.
All the Kelsey Hayes calipers used a 2.75" piston. The Kelsey Hayes brakes used different bore size master cylinders to change the amount of pressure to the calipers -- small cars used 1" for power disc brakes, 1.0625" for manual disc, Rebel/Matador/Ambo used 1.125" (no non-power disc for big cars).

- Bendix, ventilated, used from 1977-81.
Bendix came in two sizes - "Big Bendix" have a 3.1" piston and were used on the Matador. "Small Bendix" have a 2.6" piston and were used on all other cars. All Big Bendix brakes use a 1-1/8" bore master cylinder, the Small Bendix a 1" bore (or very close to those sixes -- some small ones are listed at just under 1"). The bore of the master must match the caliper piston for the Bendix.

- GM discs, ventilated, used from 1982-1988 (and later on Jeeps)
This construction is almost identical to the Kelsey Hayes. GM calipers use a 2.5-2.6" piston also.

also info on Drum brakes 1970-1988
All drum brake (front and rear) cars used a 1" master cylinder. This varied some throughout the years, but 67 and later cars used 1" for drums anyway.
