Kaveri Islannista kaipaa apuamme. Joskus 1976 hänellä oli -66 Rambler Ambassador jossa oli ongelmana että lämpömittari ja bensamittari menivät joskus tappiin ylös molemmat yhtäaikaa. Hän onnistui korjaamaan ongelman, mutta ei enää muista miten.

Nyt hänellä on samanlainen auto jossa on sama ongelma.

ainakin vanhemmissa rysissä siä on kojelaudan takana jonkinlainen rele joka pätkii virtaskaa. niin näissäkin vuosimalli kohtaisia eroja. stidi oikee kolli vastaan näihin sähkönsuurlähettiläs pulmiin.

Raipe says that behind the instrument panel there is a relay that sometimes may work and sometimes not.

There is transformer behind instrument panel. It move voltage to 12V for 5V. It is mecanical and cut pover. ~2sec on -2 sec off and so on. So average voltage is 5V. It is bossible replace similar part or modern electronic komponet (I don´t remenber number).



Also there can be power cut behid the instrument panel. Specially in round connector pins.



You have to remove intrument panel and measure wirings. The you get star for troubleshooting..

Originality there was heat plate which regulate feed voltage to 5 volts. Because those heat plates are not made anymore, you had replace it by 5 volts regulator, 7805-2 is very good for that ( and cheap).

You have to remove old heat plate from backplane and connect leftmost leg from 7805 to there to get a feed. Connect rightmost leg to another end so that petrol and temperature gauge can get 5 volts feed. Connect centre leg to the ground.

But important thing is remove old plate, othervise you burn your modern regulator.

Lazy people have also another solution. Put about 12 ohm / 5Watt resistor in series with sensor. No need to wrest behind the dash, but then alternator voltage have also affect for gauges.
